Fork in the Road
Life after high school…which road should I take? Help your middle school students prepare for one of life’s biggest decisions early by examining the options available. This workshop will explore post-secondary options, interests and financial costs from the eyes of middle school students so when they reach that fork in the road they are prepared to make such a big decision.
Roadmap to Success
On the journey from middle school to college, students will face many decisions that will affect their academic success. In this workshop, students will gain knowledge about the necessary requirements for college entrance and scholarship programs. Along the way, students will also examine concerns, barriers and solutions they may encounter.
Hang Up and Learn
We all know what most teenagers waste their time doing! To really learn, students will need to first hang up that phone and set aside whatever else is stealing their time. By understanding their particular learning style, and addressing their current responsibilities, students will identify ways to make the best use of their time, resources, and preferred method for processing information.
Trick My Transcript!
Students will discover the impact that a good high school transcript has on securing their graduation, getting into their preferred college, and obtaining that scholarship. In addition to learning to choose the best classes from 9th to 12th grade, participants will know what things build a portfolio that’s guaranteed to attract the eyes of recruiters and donors.
When I Grow Up
All students have an idea of what they dream to be as grownups. By exploring their interests, values and personality type, participants will identify matching careers through the Career Cluster model.

A fun workshop for adults interested in having their students on their way to college. We explore the important steps that students and parents need to take from middle school all the way to the first day of College. Join us on this exciting trip!

In collaboration with Hispanic communities, NEW FUTURES provides a series of unique workshops for Latino middle school students and their families to promote post-secondary education options.
Through the program contents, we transmit the information and knowledge necessary for successful transition and retention in higher education programs. Topics include advantages of lifelong learning, options and planning, career exploration, financial aid sources, and study skills.
